History: Junteenth of Fairfield County Incorporated was created in 2004 by Yolanda Ortiz, bringing us to the 20th year of this celebration in Bridgeport and the surrounding areas. Yolanda Ortiz, President, has gone above and beyond to keep the spirit of Juneteenth alive and is always inventing ways to include not only those in the inner city, but those who also come from diverse backgrounds in order to accomplish what Juneteenth is really about: freedom, unity, and love for all mankind.
